Speaking of Podcasting

I’m looking forward to speaking at the upcoming Convergence in Communications Conference, set for March 6 at Artisphere in Arlington, Virginia. I’ll be on a panel discussing podcasting and video casting, sharing tips and insights into how to integrate podcasting with your communications program.

While podcasting has been around for many years, it is emerging as a go-to tool for communicators who want to engage with their audiences with detailed information about their companies or services. I am co-host of two podcasts — “Launch Podcast: Stories About Startups” and “Practically Social,” a weekly overview of practical, in-the-trenches uses of social media.

The Convergence in Communications Conference is an opportunity for communicators – especially those in public relations and public affairs – to learn the latest from 40 experts about what works today with the traditional media and what’s new in “new” and social media.

This year’s keynote speaker is Frank Eliason, Global Director of Social Media for Citi; formerly of Comcast, where he created Comcast Cares. In 2013, Frank was named one of the 25 top innovators in PR by the Holmes Report.

In addition, John Hughes, Bloomberg News and president of the National Press Club, will be on one of the two media panels. Others on the media panels are from Associated Press, Huffington Post, NPR, Washington Post, Washington Business Journal, WJLA-TV and WTOP. Registration details and a complete list of speakers can be seen on the conference’s website.
